We invite you to contact us and to visit our campus so that we may better understand your needs and describe in more detail than the website provides all that we have to offer at Chamberlain. Whether you are looking for a Day, Boarding or Diagnostic school experience we are here to talk with you and help you through the process as you explore whether we are the right school for you.
An inquiry or referral typically starts with a phone call or confidential email to the admissions office, followed by submission of an application. Our admissions office reviews each application, including any pertinent written documents such as psychological assessments and the student's academic records in a timely manner. If it seems that we are a good fit we invite the family and prospective student for a tour of the campus. Before and/or after the tour, the family and prospective student meet privately with the Admissions Director or another experienced Admissions Representative. Once all referral documents, including an application are submitted and an interview has taken place the admissions committee will review the applicant and a decision is typically made within 24 hours.
Chamberlain offers rolling admissions; families may apply at any time throughout the year.
Chamberlain Admissions personnel also make regular visits to major cities around the United States and abroad. To arrange to meet with an Admissions Officer in your area, consult the travel schedule.

We are located on 12 picturesque acres in a small New England campus. We are 40 miles from both Providence, R.I. and Boston, MA. Both cities have major airports and Amtrak train stations. We are located in an area close to a wide variety of colleges.
Chamberlain is co-educational with 98 boarding and 20 day students, typically 60/40 males to females. Students range in age from 11-22 and are in grades 6-12. Some students stay beyond grade 12 to participate in a transition program which may involve an apprentice program, college studies or both. All of our students are faced with challenges academically and/or emotionally that have made it difficult for them to succeed in a more traditional school setting. Students come from across the United States and from foreign countries. Chamberlain is SEVIS approved by the U.S. Government to accept foreign students.
Chamberlain does not provide scholarships or financial aid at this time; however, admissions personnel will be happy to work with you to let you know where you may be able to seek some financial assistance through loans or other funding sources.
Because Chamberlain offers comprehensive and individualized services, tuition costs may depend on a number of factors. Please contact the admissions office to discuss further the costs associated with enrolling.
A student's length of stay varies widely due to their own individual needs and specific goals. The average length is 2 years; however, some students may have a shorter stay and others much longer. Each student's anticipated goals and length of stay are discussed upon enrollment and updated at six month intervals.
Classes are typically 8-10 students with one teacher and one associate teacher.
Many teachers at Chamberlain have certifications in Special Education and/or a specialized subject (such as Science or Math). Therapists are master's level clinicians, some of whom are licensed as mental health counselors or clinical social workers.
Chamberlain is a diploma granting school. We offer a Chamberlain diploma, and our credits are transferrable to students' local High Schools (if applicable) for those who wish to receive a diploma there.
Students have a wide variety of activities after school, on weekends and during school vacation breaks. They range from after school study hall, classes at the Burt Wood School of Performing Arts, sports, dances, trips to local attractions and into Boston or Providence for cultural or sporting events and everything in between.
All students are required to stay on campus for the first two weeks to familiarize themselves with the school schedule and programming. After that, students have their own individual visit plan depending on many factors. Families work with their son's or daughter's therapist to determine the best visit plan for their own circumstances. Chamberlain is open and staffed 365 days and follows a 12-month academic schedule. Please refer to the calendar on this website for further details.
