This year, Chamberlain was delighted to have State Representative Carol Doherty as the commencement speaker. Ms. Doherty is a local resident and has a lifelong career in education behind her. She was a teacher and guidance counselor in Taunton while holding the position of president of the Massachusetts Teachers’ Association prior to becoming the Director of Professional Development of the School of Education at Northeastern University, a post she held for 18 years. Among her educational accomplishments, she is also a huge contributor to the community and a champion for special education students.
Chamberlain’s Program Director Scott Davignon addressed the honored attendees, graduates, and their families. Following the awarding of diplomas and certificates, Ms. Doherty and Mr. Davignon issued citations directly from the Massachusetts State House recognizing each student for reaching this milestone. After the ceremony Chamberlain staff, students, and families were able to spend some time wishing each other well over some snacks and beverages.
